Computerized Support Systems Improve Care
The use of technology has dramatically improved the way healthcare is delivered. Computerized clinical decision support systems have been able to help clinicians treat patients. These systems pair with electronic medical records and provide patient care data. These support systems have been shown to adequately address risk and provide treatment solutions to patients. In particular, a study showed that computerized support systems were able to decrease risk of or improve treatment administration for postoperative venous thromboembolism, also known as a blood clot in the veins. Computerized support systems are becoming essential for evidence-based patient care.
